Zoofari Cocktail Party 2011

Much as excitement build for a journey, so does anticipation for Zoofari 2011: “A Night on the Prowl.” Organizers of the September fundraiser for the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden gave a sneak peak during a cocktail party June 8. Nearly 60 women donned “cheetah chic” attire for the event hosted by Zoofari co-chair Deanna Castellini and committee members Joelle Ragland and Janel Thompson. At the preview, momentum built toward the main event as guests donated one-of-a-kind items and experiences for a silent auction. Zoo Director Thane Maynard introduced the “cheetah girls,” who talked about cheetahs in the wild before guests enjoyed a spectacular cheetah run. Then, at a reception on Giraffe Ridge, attendees mingled and engaged in a private giraffe feeding. Photos by Easley Blessed Photography.
