How do I know the material I emailed you arrived?
We try to reply to every email. At deadline time, there’s a deluge of emails and we may get a little behind, but If you do not hear back from us within a few days, inquire.

What if I just can’t meet the deadline?
If your event is right after the deadline or there’s an emergency, please contact the editor to see if a deadline extension is possible.

Who takes the photos we see in Express?
That’s up to the organization having the event. Express does not send reporters or photographers to events.

How many photos should I submit?
This depends on the event – whether it’s your major fundraiser of the year, a check presentation, golf outing, etc. Check with the editor ahead of time.

Do I need to identify everyone in the photos?
Absolutely! People appreciate seeing their name as well as their picture in Express. Identify everyone, go left to right, and double check the spelling. Then label the photos so we can match photos with the names.

How many people can be in a photo?
Keep the number small. The more people in a photo, the more difficult it is to recognize anybody in print. We have a limited amount of space – the more people you try to squeeze in, the smaller their faces will be. If you send a large group photo, we may not have room to identify each person in the caption.
